Cornhole Training

Six cornhole drills you can score bag by bag, each aimed at one problem, plus a step by step guide to the throw and how to fix the miss you see most.

Start with the throw

Cornhole drills you can check yourself

Each drill looks at one part of your throw and ignores everything else. All six work solo: one board and 4 bags. Unless a drill says otherwise, throw rounds of 4 bags from your normal spot at full distance (27 feet). Start with the release, from closer if you need to, and move back once the bag flies flat.

  1. Grip & Release Calibration

Your release feels different every throw.

A warmup of four rounds: two rounds of dry swings without letting go, then two rounds of real throws. Rate each release: felt right, slightly off, or a grip issue.

  2. Flat Throw Drill

Your bag wobbles or flips in the air.

Ignore where the bags land and log only how each one flew: flat and stable, a wobble, or a tumble.

Try the free 8-bag check on the throw guide, no account needed
  3. Distance Ramp

Your throw falls apart at full distance.

Four rounds that move back step by step: about 15 feet, 20 feet, 25 feet, then the full 27 feet. Log whether each bag landed on target, on the board or off.

  4. Target Zone Repeatability

Your bags land somewhere different every time.

Pick one target zone on the board and keep it for the whole session. Log each bag as in the zone, a near miss (you would not change your aim) or way off (you would).

  5. Straight Slide Control

Your bags land well but slide off line.

Ignore the hole and watch only how each bag moves after it lands. Log a straight slide, a curved or drifted slide, or off the board.

  6. Pressure Round

You throw well in practice and worse in a game.

Play every round as if you must score to win, then reset and play the next one the same way. Log each bag as in the hole, on the board or off, so the points count like in a game.

BAGGERS is a cornhole training app that runs in any browser, and every drill in it is free. Pick one and log your next 8 bags.
